“Invoking the memory of Edward M. Kennedy, Democrats united Saturday night to push historic health care legislation past a key Senate hurdle over the opposition of Republicans…”
AP News Story
I have to presume that “invoking the memory of Edward M. Kennedy” is a code phrase for “getting drunk.” If so, I applaud the Senate for making sensible use of a Saturday night for the first time in weeks.
The late Mr. Kennedy has been sober almost three months now, a record no one in his family ever thought he would achieve.
I worked with Sen Kennedy some years ago. He was drunk the entire time.
